My friend, and fellow affiliate marketer, browie is holding a contest to win a free iPod Nano! This is really a great deal because as of now there are only a couple of entries. browie is a senior member of PPC-Coach as well and is an all around swell guy.

So, hop on over to his blog and enter his contest today! This is a legit contest, not another simple marketing ploy to get your email address! But, I hope that I win . . . 🙂

I sure think so! Let’s analyze this just a little bit. Pay Per Click (PPC) Affiliate Marketing is the process of brokering traffic to an affiliate offer to make a sale of a product or produce a lead. In other words, you are advertising other people’s products and getting a commission of the total sale or lead.

Why would you want to advertise other people’s products and not your own? Well for starters, you may not be in a position to start a traditional business in the sense of inventory, receivables, overhead, etc.

Here are the main reasons PPC Affiliate Marketing is the perfect business model:

* You can start with absolutely no money
* Your “inventory” in unlimited
* You can test new ideas in days
* You can routinely earn a 100% ROI
* The sky is the limit!

Let’s look at these in a bit more detail:

You can start with absolutely no money – The beauty of PPC is that you need ZERO dollars and a credit card to get started. I know there are some other businesses like this, but what sets this apart is that you can control your budget to the penny and know exactly when your money should be received. Here is an example of how I do it: Lets say in April I spend $1000 on advertising and I have earned (but not yet received) $2000 from sales. In my world, my credit card statement comes on April 23rd. So now I have a balance of $1000 that is due on May 18th. I am on NET 15 days with my networks so I will get $2000 on May 15th and am able to cover my credit card and pocket the rest without floating any money! Even if I did have to float it for a month, what significance is a $10 interest expense (or whatever it is) when you are making 100% return on your money.

Your “inventory” in unlimited – How many businesses can you start that allow to sell everything under one roof? One week I could be selling flowers for Mother’s Day, the next week I could be generating leads for mortgages. It doesn’t matter as these are other peoples products you are promoting.

You can test new ideas in days
– Once you choose a new offer or niche to attack, you can easily find out if it is going to be profitable within a few days. The key to being successful in PPC is testing, testing again, and then testing again! It may take 20 tries to find a winner, but when you do it can be addictive and exhilarating (and very profitable)!

You can routinely earn a 100% ROI – Yes, 100% ROI! This has got to be my favorite part of this business. I used to think how outstanding it was if you got a 20% return on your investment in something like the stock market. In this business, a 20% return campaign may get nixed because it isn’t making enough money! This month I am running at a 96% ROI. That is really hard to comprehend sometimes even for me. For every one dollar I spend, I make two dollars! Show me another business where this is achievable on a consistent basis.

The sky is the limit! – Scaling your PPC business is up to you. There is no “cap”. I know guys that have goals to top 1 million in profit per year (I hope to be there someday!). It is possible. It is happening every day. You don’t hear about these people because they have their systems and don’t want to expose them . . . and I can’t blame them. With this business it is just a matter of how bad you want it. Are you will to put in the work? Are you not afraid to lose to learn? If you have the right attitude the sky is the limit!

Now go and make some money 🙂

This is a common question I get asked by people. As you can see, the posts on this blog have dwindled and you may wonder why. Well, the honest truth is I am too busy making money that I don’t find the time to post enough. With the little free time I have, I have to prioritize between my affiliate marketing projects and my family.

So, you want to know how much money I am making now? I am not going to tell you! That might not have been the answer you thought you were going to hear 😉

I have a reason though as to why I don’t want to tell you. Because I find it quite pretentious. I mean, do you really think anyone is impressed when they go to site and see a picture of a big check? Or some dweeb standing beside his brand new car? To me those are just ego strokes. And misleading.

The truth of the matter is that you CAN make a #$%load of money online. Do you want to know how? HARD WORK!

So from now on, I will not post any numbers as to my successes. I am doing well, but there is always room for improvement. As soon as I think I am successful, I meet another comrade at PPC-Coach that just blows me away.

So stop reading this post and get back to making some money!

I know I haven’t been posting here much lately and I have good reason. Besides the fact my 2 kids keep me busy at every free moment (which I wouldn’t trade for anything), I have been diligently learning the affiliate marketing game. In the coming days I will share with you the single greatest resource you can have if you are serious about making money with PPC online. It is simply the best and has helped me in motivating me to set my goals.

I feel that goal setting is as effective as it gets, if you don’t set goals your will never achieve them. And even more so, if you post your goals for others to see you have made a commitment even greater than to yourself to achieve them! With that said, here are my PPC goals for upcoming 6 months:

I think they might be a bit modest considering what I am currently learning, but I want to start realistically. Hopefully in a month or two I will update this post and completely revise my goals upwards

Working backwards to forwards, my goal is to reach $5000 per month net profit. I want to do this at the end of 6 months. So if I set a start date of December 1st for this goal, I want to make a $5000 profit for the month of May 2008. I also am going to assume a modest 50% ROI to begin and get that up to 75% by May 2008. While this sounds insane in the normal investing world, 100% ROI is extremely likely. This is based on my current knowledge which should increase as I learn more. Again, hopefully I can revise these goals upwards in a month or two.

Using my newfound knowledge for 14 days now these are the numbers I have been able to attain.

Total Conversions: $481.85
Total Cost: $288.32
Total Profit: $193.53 (a 67% ROI!)

At this pace without doing anything else (starting more campaigns, learning more, etc.), I should profit ~$340 this month. Of course, I plan on increasing this as much as possible!

So here are my goals broken down by month. Hopefully by May 2008 I will have reached my goal!

I would love to hear your goals too.  Please feel free to post in the comments!

Anyone who is starting a business, or simply runs a small business, needs business cards. If you are on a tight budget, spending that extra cash for 1000 business cards might be too much. Well, how about some free business cards from VistaPrint?

VistaPrint offers some great prices on business cards, postcards, promotional materials, etc. But they are best know for their free business card offer.

I myself have business cards made from VistaPrint, although I paid for them as I wanted to make a custom design. I have to say I am happy with the quality and the price I paid.

After you have printed up your free cards, ask me how you can earn good money telling people about free business cards! 😉

“What would happen if every blog published posts discussing the same issue, on the same day?” That is the exact question that is being asked on Blog Action Day.  Today is designated as a day for all bloggers to take action and blog about the environment.  If enough people participate, a new awareness will be formed.  It is also recommended that bloggers donate todays earnings in full to an environmental charity.  I will do this if I make any money today!

While I can’t say that I follow all the environmentally friendly rules, I do try my best.  To my credit, I do all of my banking online as well as request as many statements and bills as I can to be delivered electronically (even though it’s a pain to reconcile a bank statement from an image).  We also recycle as much as we can at our house.  I have even thought of requesting a second bin as we seem to have it filled up every week a couple of days before pickup.

I love nature and the outdoors and will be thinking of more ways to help save the environment.  Please tell me how you are contributing, and if you have a blog please post about it!

I am proud to say that today marks day 20 of consecutive posts on my blog. In my initial post, I vowed to make 20 daily posts in a row with the theory that if you do something continuously for 20 days, it becomes habit. This would be an example of forming a good habit.

Sticking to your goals creates a snowball effect, once you reach one small milestone the next goal suddenly seems more attainable. All of a sudden, this blog feels like something i am motivated to continue and pursue.

Thank you for following my journal up to this point. I can’t promise that I will post everyday forever, but I will do my best to provide you with useful information I have learned along the way as often as possible.

Thanks again!

Book CoverSuccess is a Choice is the title of a book I read many years ago by basketball coach Rick Pitino. The title couldn’t say it any better: success IS a choice. You make choices every day that affect how successful you will be. If you make the right choices, you will succeed. And even if you make the wrong choices, you will learn from them and continue to make better choices.

The single most important lesson I have learned so far to be successful, whether it is with making money online or anything else in life is to JUST DO IT! I know it sounds cliche, but it’s true. I spent many days thinking about starting this blog, wondering what I would write, and wondering if people would read it until one day I made the choice to start it. It is in that moment of decision that success is attained. After all, success is a journey, not a destination.

Often times people make excuses because they feel too overwhelmed and don’t know where to start. Sometimes you need someone to point you in the right direction and give you a boost of encouragement. That’s why I am here. If you have any questions, want some guidance, or want to bounce off some ideas, please leave a comment.

In the online money-making world the key to success is knowledge. Knowledge is king. The more you know about how things work, the more money you will make. And don’t for one minute think this is easy. As with anything in life it requires passion, persistence, and hard work. Hence another reason I started this blog. By writing every day about the topic of making money online, I am immersing myself into a committment. Statistics show that if you write about what you learn you retain more in the long run. So, my blog is not only a learning tool for you, but a learning tool for me too.

Are you ready yet? Get up and do something RIGHT NOW that will take you one step closer to your goals!

I have been thinking about this blog for a long time. And during that time I have read numerous other blogs that have inspired me. One day I read a great motivational tip that I am going to share with you. Research suggests that if you discipline yourself to follow a regimen for 20 days that it will become habit. No longer will it seem like work or effort since it is now simply part of what you do. This applies to dieting, exercising, and in my case blogging about making money online.

I have decided to commit to myself and my readers that I will post at least once per day for the next 20 days to form this great habit. Here we are on day 3!
